as well, violent crime has more to do with cultural factors than just whether guns are available or not, and self-defense shootings are exceedingly rare in places where you can carry a gun, basically being as rare as actual violent crime in places like the uk and canada and scandanavia (probably because those places, unlike the us, are not filled with abandoned niggers and meth-addled trailer trash)
