If you have the ability to engage in interstellar travel you are going to have the tools and technology to observe without any contact.
I just don't think we'd be all that interesting to them. If you can travel that far, and other intelligences do exist, chances are you've seen other intelligences than humanity.
Disease, environmental incompatibility, the social impact on humanity etc.. I think they'd just sit and watch if they found us interesting, they'd pass us by if not, and if they wanted what we had we would be destroyed before we even knew somebody was eyeing it all up to take for themselves.
