>>23740274>that era of tech was so fucking kino. no wonder I thought wed have flying cars and shit by now.>its so sad how much worse tech has got, I thought it was just nostalgia for a while but no everything was legit better back then.yeah
modern "innovation" and entertainment STILL invoke names/franchises which came naturally to the imagination of people like 30-40 years ago, instead of coming up with new things
it's such a tell
i hope the same spirit/imagination & forward-thinking design genuinely comes back, but i don't think it can without increased standards of living & people having less to worry about
it's interesting how in the 80s in america, EVERY middle class person knew a shit ton about electronics & did that stuff as a hobby, radioshack etc
nowadays the economy can only support so many intellectuals, you don't really have random people coming up with amazing things in their garage or shit like that..
>>23740228>i guess you can at least buy most old hardware for a cheaper price these days :)yeees that is one good thing
sometimes you can buy a computer which was top-of-the-line when it came out, but now the hardware is super cheap
a modern computer with similar hardware at the same cheap price point would be the same, except the older one will have much better design and attention to detail, since it was high-end at the time
if that makes sense..
