pictured are some flags that get closer to THE FUCKING LEAF we know and love, but these presumably lost out to the flag we actually use due to ease of drawing and using more colors. canadian graphic design is very minimalist. i think it's some of the best in the world though (among governments, at least). I think we even developed our own font for signs.
