>>23776612I don’t think I have ever stated that I am one who reads fiction for the sake of reading fiction, that my life’s goal were to read an ocean’s worth of author’s artistic visions. Nay! My pursuit with my collection of fiction novels is to fulfill three purposes, one of which is to develop better prose, second of which is learn how to write my own fantasy novel series since my selection of novel series is what others and I consider to be foundational in the fantasy genre, and lastly for my own enjoyment because I favor fantasy works over other genres.
I consider the selection of fantasy novel series to be foundational in the fantasy genre and so do others and what that means is that the new age fantasy novels and novels series are offshoots that took inspiration from these novel series and maybe use concepts conceived from these novel series. I don’t want to overwhelm myself and burn myself out doing something that I honestly do not enjoy. This isn’t to say that any of these new age or even older fantasy works I have not included into my collection are bad, I just took a very minimalist approach and collected what I thought would be both fun to read and fun to learn from.
I also do not mind rereading my collection of books. I’ve watched a video the other day that discusses how in fact there is way too much books in existence and that people have been saying that there are too many books to read since the renaissance or sooner. It is simply impossible to really digest all books in existence, but it is possible to digest and reread books you truly enjoy over other books. I understand that not everyone shares the same preferences and I, and so should you understand that not everyone shares your preferences or your worldview for that matter. If you must leave then it is fine on my account, bye, I cannot say that it is a “good” bye, but it is a bye none the less.
