>>23801879Yess japanese grammar is a joke. Now how much do you need to read until you no longer have to look up any words?
Let's take 付く. It has 14 different meanings.
上げる has 26 different meanings.
There are also different kanjis for the same word.
良い 善い 好い
There are also a bunch of synonyms.
ここ is same as 此処
irregular kanji readings.
you learn to read 暗い as kurai
薄暗い. so it would be usukurai here. NO its gurai. so you never know if its kurai or gurai. you never know if 人 becomes nin, jin, and for some reason in 一人 its read as ri.
I could go on and on and on. You think you can just casually chew down all of japanese within a few months. or atleast you are giving the air of that. im just going to be realistic. if your motivations are shallow and you arent willing to read and look up as many words as possible for YEARS. You will likely never get anywhere decent with this language. even the natives struggle reading this language. the natives have to look up words. the natives forget the way to read a persons name sometimes. i watched a dude play a light novel style game and 1 hour later forgot the way a characters name was read. Watched another japanese streamer play an idol game and complained about not being able to know the readings of several kanji words and asked to get the readings. complained about it.
but yeah japanese grammar is a joke so its going to be easy
