I get my bread from a baker, my meat from a butcher, and my veggies from a local farmer that sells his stuff from his house like a lemonade stand that doesn't have a person working it. He just lays everything out and trusts people to pay for their own stuff. I know its hard to believe but not everyone is a supermarket slave. The only thing I get from the store is spices and none of them use bio engineered ingredients

You're entitled to that feeling obviously. I just personally don't get it.
Humans have been bioengineering crops for millennia by selectively breeding things and coming up with non-naturally occurring variants that are tastier or hardier or even edible whereas the naturally occurring variants aren't. I don't see us having the capability to directly change the genetic structure of things to be wildly different from this, it's just a shortcut.

bioengineering can make crops drought- and disease-resistant and increase yields
it's just turning genes on and off, nothing that couldn't be done through traditional cultivation if we had 10,000 years to do it. bioengineering just lets us controll the dice rolls
I'm not eating corn full of spider silk or anything weird like that though

I feel like this modern day bio engineering is being done by people who dont care about people and will feed them anything even if they know its bad for us and we will only know for sure if its good or bad in the future once we see what it actually does to people in the long run so to me its best to just avoid it and see how it plays out in 40 years

All of the study that's been done shows that your body processes genetically engineered food exactly the same as organic food. There isn't any meaningful evidence of it being harmful. I think you're much better off eating bio-engineered produce than over processed shelf stable crap which is what is causing the obesity, diabetes and heart disease epidemics and fundamentally posing a threat to human life.
