It doesn't, because we already know how it works. The body likes equilibrium, and doesn't like excessive amounts of any hormone floating around in the blood stream. Excess testosterone from steroids gets converted into estrogen.

Male pattern baldness can be halted and reversed. To the extent that it can't be fully reversed, you can get a hair transplant and maintain that with a regimen of finasteride and minoxidil.

There's another medication coming out in the next few years that's supposed to just grow it all back full stop. Eventually they'll have an MRNA treatment that prevents the follicles from pussying out under too much DHT, and it'll be over forever.

Hair transplants work well for balding men and women. Look at Elon Musk, he was balding in his 20's and looking at him now you would never know it. There is also topical treatments, even drugs that are fairly effective. For men it's not the end of the world either way. If you build muscle you'll look fine completely bald.
