Not kalakan. Posting on /bant/ since I want to see IDs.

Do you know what a ryokan is? My theory is that you picked a ryokan because
1. It was old timey and Japanese
2. It was the only thing you knew.
So I'd like to ask, why did you pick a ryokan?
If you searched this up at any point, you would know that it is an inn for travellers. It makes little sense.
"The Snake Den is a ryokan where venomous women are sent for rehabilitation"
Ignoring the mechanics of how such things even come to happen, which I'm sure you have spent many hours mulling over, you have established that:
1. Snake(?) women exist.
2. They come here to appear more human.
3. Somehow, they act as an intelligence organization.
4. When "rehabilitated", they are sent back to blend.
Ryokans are meant to serve travellers. Nakai (仲居) are the ones serving the travellers, but they are the ones coming and going? Why is a ryokan a good front and place for collecting information? Is it expected that every organization ever just visits this old timey hot springs inn? Why would anyone visit a place called the Snake Den?
The fact is The Snake Den is an excuse. The thing that takes up 1/3 of the defs is an excuse. It is not an exploration of character or thematic vehicle that the story can take place. It is an excuse. I'll elaborate more on the next post.
>It is also a place where actual living snakes are also able to roam free, provided they aren't seen by the inn's regular guests, of course. Each of these, lovingly referred to as "little ones," has a name, of which Tamami has memorized. Fucking what?
