it also seems like writing with abstract patterns like that is a way to drastically reduce the work/effort required on the part of the writer, as oppose to the way you suggest, "writing scenes based on how they would be in real life"
similar to how AI might be able to help an artist, i do think it's on that level
it takes the craft/personality out of it, almost changes the act of writing
i guess that wouldn't be a problem if people had it in their minds that there were two schools of thought, and could consciously choose between them, but i seriously doubt that's how writing is taught
