you're right, but the time/money/space commitment of a physical book can be annoying
ereaders let you bypass that, while still being much better than reading on a monitor/phone

like i bought a couple paperback books which the author sold/distributed directly on amazon
they had this disgusting waxxy surface & the paper smelled like plastic softener
mass-market paperbacks from 20+ years ago are better
