I guess I reached 400 kanji by now. I'm starting to read short parody visual novels and although I still have to screencap everything and send it to LLMs I occasionally recognize words and the sentence flow. Sadly I didn't do jack shit with grammar or writing and I wanted to reach 1000 kanji before getting to it but since retention is way better with visual novels I guess I'll keep brute forcing it until I can safely navigate the text.
