Normally when scientists want to test the effects of a drug they would look at things like response times during different tests or maybe the ability to accomplish tasks like walking straight or stacking objects. IQ is something that is less quantifiable when drugs are involved. It's something that usually changes with age and it has an inherent cultural bias, (i.e. if you've never seen or learned what a book is you're normally not going to do well with an IQ test even if your brain functioning is there). Not to say that this fact in particular invalidates IQ scores in any way, it's just not a universal godly intelligence number like some retard stoners might think it is.
