>>23911176He has the best advisors in the country around him right now. Why do you think there is such a massive difference in success versus his first term, which was just floundering from start to finish?
He has the republican party under his thumb right now, they don't like it, they never did, but now they see him as a sort of double edged sword. They can implement unpopular policy through him that they want to implement without taking the political heat themselves, he can act as a lightning rod for criticism as he is seen as an other from the party. However when he succeeds they can bask in the glory as well.
You also have to keep in mind that his opposition's base are extremely sensitive individuals. They will whine about anything he says, and demand their leaders address it.
You can't form policy or opposition if all you are doing is responding to the latest crazy thing Donald said. And Donald says a lot of crazy things.
This is also intended to obfuscate, what crazy thing is true?
Did you think that they would meander into the capital city of a foreign country, walk into his bedroom in the presidential palace, kidnap him and spirit him away back to America? He said they would. He literally telegraphed this action weeks in advance. But the signal to noise ratio drowned it out.
I tend to approach these things from a standpoint of game theory in that I assume the players have a degree of competence and are playing the game to win/achieve their objectives/implement their vision.
Frankly I don't agree with everything he has done but he is making moves in the right direction. Drug policy is ineffective and needs to be looked at from a national security standpoint. Old laws and the courts can't meet the challenges of cartels that have anti aircraft missiles and billions of dollars in liquid funds, and no shortage of hands on deck.
His national defense and foreign policy: outstanding. The destruction of Iranian nuclear facilities is an incredible victory.
