that's true, the post-truth applications are real, but it's not going to get much worse than it already is imo
the companies are fucking lazy & don't innovate anything, the training data (2+ decades of a cooperative, intelligent, non-glowie internet) does all the work
neural networks in general could have more interesting applications, but nobody is actually putting in any work/creativity to find those (though they might in the long run), everyone just wants a few million dollars from this shit as quickly as possible
the real cost to society of creating/running this lazy garbage is what bothers me the most, and i don't mean environmental "muh water", i mean everything else
