>>23969244you heard of the hope study? roughly put they got rats in water and let them swim until they drowned.
they found that rats that got saved in the past would swim like 200x longer than rats that have never been saved so the thoughts are that the rats that had hop held on longer before drowning than those without hope.
It gives us explanation to things we cant explain, why did that person everyone love die a horrible death to cancer? well it wasnt random it was a test of god or they were sacrilegious etc
its also an easy way to become part of a community where you feel like you belong, as social animals humans need that sense of connection.
there are more like helping shape moral etc but there are also negatives to religion like anything else.
you have to make religion work for you, you have to make yourself believe in this BS that you know isnt true and trick your brain.
I wish I could be someone that thinks we are more than just meat computers and our lives have meaning and we dont just stop existing when we die but sadly I think I know more than I do and cant accept that without proof
