How easy is it to acquire a pet monkey?
This isn't an advertisement or request for buying and selling or anything illegal, I'm just curious if anyone in the know can provide information regarding the exotic pet trade
If anyone is willing to inform me about the trade and everything about getting a pet monkey, that would be great
I'm mostly interesting in getting a macaque, of any variety. I know that the price would be at least around $10,000, so realistically I may never end up getting one...
I am aware of the "ethical problems" of owning a pet monkey, I don't care.

It really sucks to live in a place with such restrictive laws (California).... Texas is the closest place to me that I could get a pet monkey legally, but I can't move to Texas, so illegal pet trade is only option

Training and discipline are extremely important to instill in a young monkey, to prevent extreme behaviour later on, this I understand. There is also the fact that most retards abuse and unknowningly mistreat their monkeys, trust me when I say that I despise the unqualified pet owners and their actions that have lead to my misfortune. And it should also be noted that pet monkeys of the illegal trade are usually traumatized from a very young age due to the traumatic experience of being kidnapped and being treated like property, abused and shipped in cages, just to be someones pet, so yeah that also probably affects it.
