>80 y/o female here. Bought 2004 2.4l Camry in 2020 from friend who could no longer drive. 74,000 miles and always garaged. Now have 108,000 miles and can't even hear engine run. Large tree branch fell on car in RV park where I live. Park very good and paid the $4800.00 repair real fast without insurance involved. My fear was they would hand me a check because there is nothing out there comparable for $4-5,000 dollars. I study which years are more reliable between Camry and Corolla between say 2008-2015 and will go that direction if Camry is totaled God forbid. Because so much in engine is up front even I could change spark plugs, pcv valve, upstream 02 sensor, MAS if I had to. I have two different small mechanics who are honest and fair with their prices. I'm lucky there too. Fingers crossed.
