Thankyu German fren! I'll be studying Computer Science and I'll have to work during the night to pay some expenses (thankfully at home on my computer). Don't tell anyone you were a NEET. Just say you went travelling, to "find yourself" or some other shit. LEARN YOUR HARDWARE. Don't get into Comp Sci and just let them feed you a bunch of coding shit. Dig into the servers and VLAN switches, firewalls and printers, HARD. There are plenty of companies smart enough to not be cloud-based.

Thanks for the tips! I'm not too naive about the graduation and its limitations, already have lots of complementary plans for it and I'm mostly there for career opportunities and developing independence. I'm very afraid of making friends though, hoping that weed will help

weed friends might be comfy but they're also highly likely to not have their shit together, i.e. they're worthless if you need a friend.
make friends in class and in extracurriculars (gym? student council?). that won't guarantee they'll be good friends or that they'll have their shit together, but chances are better.

In Brazil, IT is sort of a slang referring to any graduation that is involved with computers (mostly because they are all pretty superficial and you can't trust them entirely). I assumed it was the same in other countries but might not be, sowwy

Thanks for the tips! I sort of know how to be nice and pleasant but I'm very anxious and awkward, first year in college seems like the place where this is slightly more acceptable so I'm hopeful about it, but still quite nervous

Comp Sci, at least twenty years ago, in the US, was a blend or hardware, DB stuff and coding, but it went very light on the hardware and network design, which is essential if you want to get a foot in with many companies that aren't "pure tec" companies.
