I remember reading book about French army in Napoleon times.
Apparently short guys were notorious duellists. They would pick fights with grenadiers -- the tallest soldiers in the army -- and would insist on fighting with swords
But they used the rapier instead of the regular 'briquet' sword carried by the soldiers
They trained hard with this weapon and so usually won these fights.
