So why is it that the Ottoman Empire was in decline while the European powers were rising to the zenith of their power and global influence?
The industrial revolution. The Ottoman Empire had failed to follow the trends of other modern powers, and did not industrialize. They failed to modernize. Industrialization is the key creator of wealth and prosperity the world over.
Look at China. Shitting in pots in the 90s, and worse off before that. Come this YOOL 2026, and more Chinese millennials own their own homes than westerners, both per capita and in plain numbers.
Industrialization is the primary source of the wealth, power and prosperity in Europe during the modern age. It continues to be so everywhere that has adopted this model. And they have all adopted this model because it is objectively superior.
If Europeans had stayed home, if we had not gone our colonial adventures and established these ties, and given these gifts to the people of the world, it would not have been a positive thing for the world.
It would for Europe however. Because if we had stayed home, we still would have produced all the same technology that we did. We invented and developed it internally, after all.
If we had stayed home we would basically be gods on earth. The people of the world would not be able to fathom the tech, the culture and the power we possess. They would very likely literally think of us as gods.
The entire world would be comprised of cargo cults outside of Europe. They would be living in the same subject poverty and misery we found them in.
So next time you want to bitch about white people, just remember you owe us absolutely everything you know and possess today. Remember you would still be in chains. Remember that you would not have access to modern healthcare, modern education and modern infrastructure.
This is practically indisputable and I guarantee you are not equipped for this conversation if you want to dispute the facts.
