Him and Doug started a Golden Era of Internet Comedy. Back then you didn't have sponsors or fucking talent agencies manufacturing success. You actually had to amuse people and market yourself. These people used to be real dudes. You could pat them on the back at an open bar at MagFest and have a beer and have a fun conversation about nerd shit with them. Get a photo, don't be weird and have a good time.
Now the Internet has gone the way of CableTV. Not only that they survived all the dumpster fires like #ChangeTheChannel. The content petered out, became a dead bit. Doug seems to legitimately enjoy what he does now, too.
It was a good time. They deserved to move on. They got the good ending.
We just wish we'd known how good we had it before we woke up and it was over.
I really hope he's not dead. I'd be crushed on behalf of his kids and friends.
