nah, it's good to know these things

i've been reading the gulag archipelago, i didn't realize it's fairly common practice (historically) to target whole ethnic groups who cause problems, but i guess it makes sense
idk if that's what's happening now but it's concerning how non-unprecedented the idea is

as much as that's a real thing I highly doubt they murdered the lassie from the cranberries after she had faded into relative obscurity. it'd make more sense if they had done it when the cranberries were more active making political songs that were doing well in the charts if they were going to do something to silence her/the band
