>>2411754As a point of reference, Google only just started out in 1998. Wikipedia in 2001. YouTube in 2005. I bet nowadays most people can't even imagine what the internet must've been like without those three.
I was too young for most the BBS and Usenet shit, and my memory is admittedly a bit spotty. But what I remember most about the internet is that it used to be like a fucking treasure hunt to me. You had at best a few shoddy search engines, and the shitty connections and double up as a phone line made it so looking for anything took you forever. It was literally impossible to get blasted with as much information as you are today
