I think Greg is in the running for "person's life most affected by Fishtank" ...but in a negative way. His dream was being a wholesome Mr Beast like influencer, for I'm assuming a wide and younger demographic. He actually made some progress in that direction, by doing a viral impression video... He spent a year trying to recreate that magic to no avail. Then he get's invited on Fishtank, get's gassed up by production/fans, and convinced to give up on what he was working towards. This was seen as a "victory" or some shit, because he "became his own person". But now he's essentially handcuffed to the Fishtank world, making similar shows that get a minuscule fraction of the viewership. By essentially endorsing this community, he's pretty much guaranteed to never reach the mainstream audience he set out for. "But becoming a mainstream Mr Beast type influencer is lame" It was his dream though... And he'd have a self sustaining career that he could potentially retire on. "He never would have reached that level anyway" Who knows, kids watch a lot of dumb shit. His videos were at least competently made, and resembled the content he was inspired by... So he was gaslit into giving up his dreams, and to trade that for a small potion of an already niched community. Somehow that is seen as a victory... I feel like it's even antithetical to what Sam preaches on his advice shows, unless I misunderstood those myself. Ultimately I feel sorry for Greg. Becoming an FTL orbiter is almost never a sustainable career path. The amount of former contestants it's worked for is less than a handful.
