seeing kiwis reminded me that it's possible, at least theoreitcally, to be not constantly bathed in sorrow. even my fellow leafs on course were a mixture of unhappy feminists, a royalist, and a druggie, all unhappy for having been put in the same class, and very much clearly so, I hung with them for familiarity but saw they clearly didnt like the scene and had to latch onto other scenes. the kiwis -- I had to be told that "kiwi" isn't a slur because it appeared on their fucking combat uniform -- they seemed just happy all the time
