Some animes have undiagnosed mental illness (such as PTSD) that manifests as outward aggression. Likely they will remain disaffected and see any minor slights or indiscretions as an appeal to authority, and naturally will respond with violence. Since any mental health professional is, in their eyes, an authority figure, they will refuse to acknowledge their own issues as it will register as acquiescence to that authority.
