Sure there are a few autists that do it for other reasons, but i guess i'm trying to explain the most common type of tripfag.
>>2458241i think this has something to do with the sheer amount of Americans. most posters from small countries, whether they like it or not, build up an identity because they are either the only person from their country or, you can tell its them because of the combination of their flag and the content they post. For example, ghibli Tunisian poster/ the kagari fags/ manx.
Whereas Americans can seldom get recognized because most of the people who post are american. Adding a trip is one way to slightly differentiate yourself from others, even if you are just going to use it as an ironic persona. And with such a small board, so long as there is a balance, i think it works well if a small amount of americans use tripcodes
>>2458296for this, i think that anyone tripcoding is using it as a persona, it's not really them, it's kinda like they are still anonymous, but with the same name attached to everypost. no one will know what they are like in real life, so it doesn't really matter much if you know it's the same poster.
