I think kids might also be a culprit in ruining youtube. They make the absolute worst comments. I mean there was less kids on youtube in 2009 than 2017. Wether that is because of phones not sure. I also put the blame on youtube pushing people to get an account which made more people able to comment. Kids are also were the profit is for most content creators so its usually low effort garbage, so they can watch their videos.
