I'd agree that most nu-horror (little girls with long black hair, slackjaw spoops with no eyes, "LOOK I MADE YOU JUMP OUT OF YOUR SEAT WITH VERY LOUD NOISES!" are complete garbage, but there are some gems in that dump.

I consider Silence of the Lambs to be more of a thriller. It has many characteristics of horror movies, but the plot is mainly involving the mystery behind the events rather than the events themselves. Great movie none-the-less.
