I am a fan of utility cars. Personal favorite car is a mercedes turbo diesel from the early 80s.

The point with this pole, is that it may be a replica, but if it goes 200mph, it is still a supercar. Dunno why you need that but whatever.

In the USA, you go off the frame VIN number. There are plenty of "tricks" in the USA to do fun stuff like putting small block v8s into nissan 300zx etc. You can also make a "sleeper" which is any janktey hoopty and you put the biggest engine you can in.

you can use chassis from another car, and register it as a modded car. He might've just taken an old car of his and used its chassis to build on. It works like that here at least, the chassis is like a receiver of the car.
Any time I look for a used car that was popular 10 years ago, i always see some "buggy" type cars with valid road registration as a citroen or smth similar.

A stock body Supra withstood 248mph and was never designed to go over 160. Most cars hold up better then you think they do. It's all about quality of build and parts used. Modern day Ferraris and Lambos are no more reliable then your average Honda Accord.

Iirc it had a BMW engine, which is easily sourceable.
