Any internet trolls here tonight? I'm doing my master's thesis on internet trolls and I need help.

I'm studying trolls and hopefully I'll find some real answers instead of those "facts" that media and many other scientific studies have given so far.

Well, you're in the right place, I guess.

You should start with the root of the situation: What do trolls like? A reaction. They want people to get mad, to look ridiculous, and they want to laugh at it.

Second, who are their targets? Why do they choose these targets? What is the motivation and what are the prerogatives of the enemies of the trolls?

those are good questions and definitely need an answer, the motivation to troll probably is very different with different people and not like the explanation of some studies where they just blame it on sadistic personality traits for example
