So I just re-read the Harry Potter series and watched the Harry Potter movies (HUGE harry potter nerd....) and it made me think: Are there any Universities in the wizarding world?
Well, it turns out there aren't any. Now this may just be because the books are targeted towards a younger audience, but it made me think. Would it be possible for basic education to become so advanced it replaces Higher education?
What I mean is this: If we made basic education more advanced, rigorous, and in depth to the point to where all "high school" classes were college level classes (AP i guess), would it be possible to eliminate the need for University?
As an avid reader and MASSIVE erudite, I went through high school extremely easy, and I have yet to learn something i didn't know in University (and I'm in my third year).
What are your thoughts?
