Turning a funny adventure shonen into a shitty battle shonen where everything revolved around power level was a mistake.

How many great characters in the original Dragon Ball became irrelevant in Z? Why did they ruin Chichi and Bulma? Why did Krillan do a complete personality shift and stopped being Goku's smug rival and just become a plot device to make goku angry?

Why did Z discard good story arcs for whoever can yell the loudest?

They mostly do this in order to keep the story going as long as possible even if it's doing a complete 180 on the story and characters.
But this is typical with most battle shonen animes.Which is why I kinda stop watching the genre in generally

GT was actually better than Z for a good chunk, before it devolved into Z shit again.

Turning Dragon Ball from an adventure shonen to a battle shonen was a mistake.
