Great way to start the day.
I have rather strange breakfasts.
Tasty as fuck though, and filling.
Usually involves these basic things:
Meat or fish (sometimes both), egg
2/4 grains.
bunch of veg
spices and / or some sauces to enhance, not cover, taste.
Occasionally some fruit.
I will take some pretty pictures tomorrow of whatever I make for breakfast.
This morning as an example:
Fried up a pepper, broccoli floret and stem, 3 radishes, 3~ inch of carrot, quarter red onion, 2 spring onions. All sliced of course.
While that was frying away, I removed chicken and skin from the chicken, and put some rice and couscous on to cook. (rice and couscous were lightly seasoned with salt and paprika, and a little touch of malt vinegar and butter)
Veg ready, throw chicken in.
Chicken ready, throw skin in.
Fry skin for 2 minutes, turn ring off.
1 minute wait, put the egg in, fry it lightly so the yolk is still runny.
In a bowl, veg on bottom, chicken, rice and couscous, skins and egg on top, burst egg so it runs through.
Some rocket and watercress on top.
Red Apple and some strawberries.
This was "end of the shopping week" stuff though, I was running out of food, got shopping today.
Might have fish tomorrow.
The way I do the egg is crack egg lightly in to the pan and quickly shake it out flat, then use spatula to pull the edges of the whites over the yolk quickly.
If done right, you could be able to get it to stick and cook over without it bursting.
If not, it will look like a kids drawing of an egg. Still tasty though.
Out of the 5 times I have tried this (only just started doing this recently), I've been 3/5 happy with it.
