I think an Indonesia risk map would be pretty cool. What kind of software do you use and or recommend to make these risk maps anyway? I'm thinking about making a few myself.

I just use paint.net but I have a somewhat routine process that I do when I make Risk maps.

>find and image
>create another layer
>trace over physical outline
>make nation borders, 4px
>make territory borders, 2px
When doing the tracing use anti aliasing
>add rolls and rules appropriate to the map

I've been thinking about doing Indonesia actually, might go ahead with that one.

Neat that's typically what I do when I mess around in Photoshop anyway, thanks anon. Never heard of paint net till now but so far it has great reviews on Cnet so maybe I'll give it a try since I've been looking to get away from online editors like Pixlar on account of them crashing or more so because my browser crashes sometimes.

I would really appreciate it if you anons could tell me a better way to fish up good maps for tracing over, I use google images and its an absolute pain to fish up good maps from that shithole.

Any size works, I can resize the image, makes no difference when tracing them, what I look for in maps is not cutting to many parts of countries or islands, basically aesthetically pleasing maps, but just in shape because I trace over them.
