2. At the political and indeed geographical center of the continent is the wealthy province of Cyrodiil, the home of the Imperial race. Imperials are generally considered to be modeled after Western Europeans and partly Romans. Cyrodiil is a lush, green place, which is staggeringly similar to places like Germany, France, Spain and Italy. As I mentioned, it truly is the political center of the continent. Why? Well, the Imperials govern a colossal Empire, which spans the entirety of the continent. Via fantastic military planning and diplomacy, the Imperials have united all of the races to fight for one cause. The Imperial Legion is by far the largest army on the continent and beyond, and the political power of the Empire is unmatched. Since the beginning, the Imperials promised peace, liberty and equal laws to everyone. Cyrodiil is the bastion of technology and societal progress, and no other province even comes close. As it is the center and seat of the Empire, it is the land of opportunity. But it wasn’t so for everyone, so some time ago emperor Reman the first decided to change that. He was a cosmopolitanist, and allowed unlimited immigration from everywhere on the continent. As Imperials were gifted in diplomacy and creating unity, they took this well. Cyrodiil is now a very diverse place, and this is clearly seen when taking a closer look at the game data. A fourth of the population remains native, while the rest is pretty evenly distributed among all the races. Most races however have stayed in border towns close to their own homelands, and have also settled in the Imperial City, which is a bustling multi-racial metropolis similar to Rome in the Roman Empire. Now, how has immigration and cosmopolitanism affected Cyrodiil? Well, it was assumed as a natural way of keeping order within the Empire, and from that perspective it has probably been quite beneficial. But for the Imperials and their culture I cannot say the same.
