Hello. A couple of weeks ago I did an AMA here on /pol/. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of questions and engagement of this community so I decided to do another AMA. After this I will start to post threads related to some relevant topics regarding history and archaeology.

Ofc it is. Paradigms replaced one another during the last centuries. The best way to sum it up is with this quote H. G. Gadamer: "The interpretation of the past depends on the present". Philosophical movements like neo-marxism, feminism, analytical philosophy etc. have been influencing archaeology in the last decades mainly in western countries.

Some are believers (in my region christians), some are agnostics and some are atheits. There is no general position.

They were doing it for several centuries but it is still pretty recent considering how long have we been in the stone age.

They are primates after all. It is still very primitive use of stones without any evidence of sophisticated stone shaping. It might take thousands of years for them to progress further.

No, I am skeptical of the dating methods. They need to be reproduced several times by different institutions for it to have some merit.
