Anon I'm a FREAKING THE FUCK OUT!!

My (((doc))) just called and said that I need a Tetanus vaccine done.

He said it is free as well.

However this BOY has lived long enough on this God fearing world to know that NOTHING is free...only cheese in a mousetrap.

Do they want to inject me with cancer chemicals?

Read about acquired immunity and antibody proliferation. Being able to recognize a pathogen means the immune system overwhelms the pathogens ability to spread/proliferate upon making contact. That's close enough for a laypersons perspective, I'll expand on that by saying you aren't explicitly developing "more" antibodies, it's more along the lines of after the attack/pathogen is resolved, a few of the antibodies become specialist cells that essentially scout around for more signs of that specific pathogen. Are killed strains better? Are attenuated live pathogens better? Which is in this vaccine I'm getting? Etc

It's not stupid or paranoid in speculating on whether a vaccine is worthwhile or useful in and of itself. In a sense you shouldn't be completely trusting or entirely skeptical of the medium.

The immune system has what are known as "memory B cells" which hang around for a long time. When stimulated by a specific molecule, they begin producing antibodies again.
