Since it is Halloween let's talk about a cultural equivalent from my country.
Despite the flag i am in fact from Iceland.
Now in Iceland we actually don't celebrate Halloween (unless that has changed after i left).
Instead we have something called "öskudagur" or "ash day" In english.
It happens somewhere between 4 feb to 10 mar, depending on when easter is.
They're fundamentally similar in that children dress up in costume, go up to buildings and then recieve candy.
But where they diverge is what buildings they walk up to and how they get the candy.
On ash day the children walk into businesses and sing to receive candy.
Obviously due to this it's held on business hours.
Also as a side note FUCK dentists, they'd always give you some bullshit like raisins or apples and smugly tell you to not eat too many sweets.
