>>2729862In my friend's mother's house there was a young lady in a fair short dress who used to sit on top of a huge old tree stump in the backyard. My friend had told me about her before but I never believed him until I saw her one night I slept over there (I was 12 or so). It was scary as shit and even more when my friend told me that she usually got angry when she noticed she was being watched. Every time her head hinted a movement towards me I'd fucking panic and sink my head in the pillow... but now I had to take a peek again, it was too tempting not to. It certainly didn't help that my bed was just by the window.
The following nights, I had to sleep with the blinds closed even though it was summer and fucking 35 degrees outside.
My friend's mother told me that she was La Llorona (the weeping lady) but she usually is depicted dragging chains and crying, and the lady on the stump was calm, like waiting for something.
At the back of the backyard there was a little shed where their grandma lived, and shortly after she passed away so my hypothesis is that the lady on the stump was San La Muerte (Saint Death), a pagan folklore patron of my region and "our" version of the grimm reaper.
This happened in Argentina, btw, and I never went back to that house. Neighborhood was a shithole anyway.
