Not a single house where I live bothered with decorations, and there was maybe one group of kids who desperately went around trying to get candy only to finally give up went home. When they dropped by my house, one of the kids was crying... their bags had only two pieces of tiny candy. I felt horrible, so I unloaded all the candy I bought for myself into their bags. Sure, it wasn't big on variety but at least they had semi-full bags before calling it a night.
