But with the exception of the career homeless, people in the US have more creature comforts than anywhere else in the word. Everybody has smartphones, high speed internet, an automobile, health insurance, their own private residence, etc. You have to make some pretty terrible decisions to have a shitty life in the US. On the other hand, there are plenty of places where hardworking and honest people have practically 0% chance of achieving the same quality of life we enjoy. Why do you think there are so many immigrant families in the US? They are here because even our minimum wage quality of life is better than what they can obtain in their home countries.
