It was mostly on the weekends at that point, not full blown until I was about 17. Drank with friends and family so I always had access.

Nah I'm not a native but I met plenty of native alcoholics in detox.

Alcoholism is kinda different in them. Some have a really low tolerance to alcohol, some have a really high tolerance to alcohol. I met a guy that could pound away 60 ounces of vodka in a day.

Not only that but withdrawal to them is usually more intense. One guy was found having a seizure outside at -30 Celsius.

Well, a bit maybe, I still hold that the views of mine back then weren't entirely wrong though. I don't really into pollitics right now, at all, if I had to state where on the political scale I am, probably somewhere near center, leaning a bit to the right, conservative stuff. Being a contrarian is necessarily bad in itself, but as adopting it a serious label doesn't give a person any fixed base to say on a fundamental level "this is generally right, this is generally wrong," it ends up just ebbing and flowing with the lulz of the time, which makes it no better than the worst kinds of populism.

I used to think the far right were just people who wanted common sense and truth, and that the left couldn't handle the truth.

Then I slowly realized how the right would omit evidence that went against them, and how all their worldviews came directly from self interest and emotion rather than evidence.

If you're a white westerner, the left as a whole is necessarily going to be more rational than the right. This is because the west is mostly white, and reactionary "muh victim" elements from whites are going to be right wing.

This agrees well with the studies on brain activity, where white liberals had much less amygdalic (emotional) activity than white conservatives.

When I was in high school I was a stalinist communist, not because I was stupid enough to think that communism could actually work but because I was trying to be edgy and some other kid already had the neo-nazi schtick. Then I became a genuine white nationalist, and now I'm a little more of a far light libertarian. Race doesn't mean nearly as much to me as it used to.
