Communism is the ultimate goal of Socialism. No Socialist state was able to achieve Communism. So in theory, Communism has never been tried. Socialism doesn't work because it doesn't factor human greed and selfishness into the equation. That is why Capitalism works so well. Because Socialism counts on the altruism of humans in general it always fails. Therefore the fact that "Communism has never been tried" is irrelevant. The only method to achieve true Communism doesn't work.
Just a little lesson for you there. The word "Communist" is a compliment and a derision. It means that you believe in a utopian society with no poverty. On the other hand it means you are ignorant enough to believe that it is possible.
In closing. SOCIALISM never works. COMMUNISM is unobtainable and has never been achieved.
