I am with a team that manages, secures (physically & technically) and operates the interconnection points, relays and subsidiary systems that relate to government and most civilian satellite communications and the land based uplinks that join the web of connections.

2200 ZULU 11/6/2017 - Test was conducted to assess failover capability in the event of a space weather event that crippled 50% of geosynchronous assets. The test was scheduled to last 30 minutes, we simulated the test by using what can best be described as a scheduled task or cron job that put approximately 50% of the functional SATCOM, GPS, reconnaissance and other assets in the mode that we set them to / enter in to during CME or other space weather events. 2230 ZULU came and went, only a fraction of them came back and reconnected to ground. Cyber attack is the theory we are operating with at this time. JCoS have upgraded to DEFCON 3 as this purported attack is certainly an act of war that only a spacefaring nation could launch, DPRK is the SAC/CC's most likely actor at this point. We have lost essentially 50% of our satellite reconnaissance assets (coverage lapses), space to ground communications and other extremely important, national security impairing assets. This "outage" has/is/will degrade both military, other covert and civilian connectivity for the foreseeable future. A string of missions have been talked about and suggested but in reality, 130 bricked satellites that combined probably net a multi-hundred-billion if not trillion dollar loss, can't be fixed. All ground based attempts to fix have failed and this won't be released. DPRK will likely soon be attacked as a result as well as their satellite assets destroyed. I'm not 100% convinced of the JCoS narrative and believe they are using this to not only justify but to start a ground war in North Korea. I would prepare and do whatever you can to prepare for any eventuality. Will not post again, this is very serious anon..
