>>2932847>OpinionTo be honest, I can’t think of any mainstream site that has a more annoying and ignorant userbase than reddit. I’d say /pol/ is a very close second, but then again, it’s 80% redditors who came from the cancerous shithole that is r/the_Donald.
Anyhow, that’s just one problem with reddit. The other problem the site suffers is how its boards for discussions, or rather subreddits, are designed in a way to promote a circlejerk culture. The way how the organization of discussion defaults to the most upvoted comments that are usually popculture references, memes from other subreddits, or Reddit & Memey quotes. There’s also a severe case of fanboyism in videogame subreddits where even stating constructive negative opinions buries you deep in downvotes, and all the replies to your constructive argument are snarky fanboys telling you to stop whining or other generic insults while receiving bajillions of upvotes. Most of the time, they have these gold circles next to their usernames which is what I believe to be the user getting gifted a premium membership.
There’s also the diehard neoliberal aura that stenches the place. Fucking hell, man. They have no problem with screaming about Trump’s autistic mistakes and sucking Macron’s dick on the same breath, even though the latter is the one who is attacking labour unions and is leaning more right by the minute. Don’t get me started on the city subreddits either, they’re all dogshit. Even fucking r/Seattle, a supposedly progressive city, wants all the homeless people to die of hypothermia because they’re angry the city council decided to help the homeless population. Absolutely outrageous.
>Usage and WhyNo, don’t even have an account. I’ll visit it occasionally when I’m super bored to see whatever bullshit they’re up to and form better opinions about them.
