I understand if you find this argument stupid, so maybe more polliticy one will convince you: if we do help them, we can always say "Hey, hey, hey, we help Ukrainians and those Syrian refugees do not want to come here, so take them yourselves". Not to say that I hate Syrians or something, not at all, but I'd much rather have some fellow slavs here than a bunch of arabs. In the end, Ukrainians are very, very similliar to us and I don't want my compatriots to feel entitled to anything. Ehhh, I cannot really find good words to convey what I want, hope you get the general idea.
