>>2995669I could be completely wrong but I think of it like this. There is a finite amount of mass and so in that sense the universe is finite, but it can potentially be infinite. Let’s say the universe is 1trillion light years wide full of stuff, and past 1 trillion light years there is nothing, well you could potentially go to the edge of the universe where the last atom is, and then go one foot farther, and now the universe is 1 billion light years and one foot wide. Basically eventually you run out of stuff filling the universe, but there isn’t some barrier preventing things from spreading out further.
