Who else here suffers with ADHD and or ADHD nervous system? How do you guys cope with it and try to be a somewhat functional adult?

Same, concerta. I've tried it all, including amphetamines but long acting mythelphenidate worked the best for me

Concerta is pretty cool. since you say you've tried everything I'm going to assume that includes modafinil and it's sisters. some of the lesser ones, such as adrafinil can be bought online but you can't take too mush of that one and it doesnt have the same wow factor. how much do you sleep?

Nah I haven't taken adrafinil or its relatives, can't be purchased legally here AFAIK.

I've been on concerta for like a year now, it doesn't affect my sleep so much anymore. My sleeping patterns are stupid with or without it.

I sleep a decent amount tho, just at dumb times like 4am

Without it i can't even get any enjoyment, I'll play a video game or anime for 5 minutes and alt f4 and sperg out on the ground for out of frustrated boredom

Too addictive in my experience, made life without it terrible in comparison. I lose my tolerance to Mythelphenidate within a day and im back to my old self in a couple.

Not popular at all.
Any problems related to mental health is still considered a taboo. Even therapy is.

My mom's BF's dad was in Vietnam, him and I became occasional drinking buddies after I came back from Afghanistan. We talked about that era a lot. The US didnt really care about mental health the 90s when teenage suicide became culturally popular. That was also the same time ADHD meds became common place. Now it's a nightmare because the people who need them have to be weeded out by the college kids who snort them so they can drive drunk safely

Yeah, depressions a big issue as well.
At least there, people are free to do what they want. But here, not so. Everyone's pushed into universities etc, which makes it even worse.
The majority part of the country being rural doesn't help either.

I've been seeing a therapist and a psychiatrist for about 2 years now and I'm on Strattera which has been great (for a non-stimulant method) as well as Focalin XR which is also great since I don't really feel any sort of crash from it/comedown. Therapist is for other issues but at this point they are mostly here so I can maintain a healthy mental state. Everyone thinks that mental health isn't important so they don't see a therapist like they'd see a normal GP/PHP (normal doctor) for checkups for some reason. Take care of yourself, you deserve it. I also take St. John's Wort for stability in my moods or else I'm a bit of a dick and can be very short and curt with anyone. It took awhile to find a good brand that worked for me though.
